It’s pogo a go-go with Miss Riley A. If she were to pick a genre, she’d be a punk rocker bouncing up and down at CBGB’s with her cohorts. Riley bounces all day long when she plays with her buddies: Moya, Charlie Longwell, and Cody B and she’ll start a mosh pit on a whim with Luka J. She’s her own pogo stick of raw power. A black and white spring that never slows down. All that bouncing around can be tough on her feet, so when she wants to give her toes a rest, our mini Sid Vicious can be found lounging in the sun; recharging her batteries with some vitamin D. When she’s full power once again, it’s backing to more pogo-ing. She even gives dogs like Kevin B lessons! This little bouncer always brings the good times and that’s why we have made her this week’s Dog of the Week!

Don’t let her size fool you. “Little” Luka has a big personality. JPM’s resident tomboy, if she were a human, you’d find her flipping a skateboard and getting skinned knees. She’s always ready for a challenge: whether it’s putting a bigger dog like Kevin or Luka P in a playful headlock, playing long games of tag with Penny H and Ghost V, or scaling the bench to sit in our handler’s lap. She loves to cuddle with our handlers (as long as no one is around to see it. It might ruin her image). She barrels through every dog and every person like a furry bowling ball; the first one to start a game of tag and outlasting the big boys. She’s tough, takes no guff, and loves to have a good time. That’s why she’s this week’s Dog of the Week!

Like Willow Smith, Blossom whips her hair. And with gusto! With a spin and a trot, her locks bounce like a shampoo ad. This sweet, golden haired girl can be found usually getting that glorious mane drenched in one of her favorite pastimes: playing with the hose! Decorum and reserve are of no concern when she’s frollicking in the spray, knocking the likes of Bixby M and Duke H out of the way or more of that radical H20. When she’s done, she spends her time sunbathing; drying off to get that full Farrah flip. Miss Blossom and her hair are a lovely thing to see everyday, which is why she’s this week’s Dog of the Week!

Who needs a leash when you can walk yourself? That’s what Wrigley says! Every morning, this clever Golden Retriever avoids the queue by walking himself in all the way from the car and patiently waits for the door to the back to open. Once in the group, Wiggly-Wrigley as we call him, joins his golden friends Charley Z. and Bixby M. in a lengthy sniffing session followed by either a game of tag or a trot around the yard. On occasion, he’ll run up to our head jock, Kevin B. for some light wrestling. We love having Wrigley waltz in to brighten up our day and that is why we have named him the Dog of the Week!

Some of our regulars at Just Pet Me refuse to fall into any sort of “type.” The most notorious girl who vehemently opposes labels would be Ripley C. She’s not a jock, a geek or a wallflower. She lives for both doggy and human interaction equally and she switches up her friends as often as she comes in. On any given day she’ll enjoy a lengthy sunbathing session, or an hour following around a couple of dogs at play, or will bark for the attention of the dog handler, or go about her way in the yard…it’s always a surprise! We always look forward to seeing what Ripley gets up to each day and that is why we have named her Dog of the Week!

While he may not look it at first sight, Howl is our most “stop-and-smell-the-roses” kind of dog here at Just Pet Me. He enjoys taking his time getting here and is never one to make too many plans for the day, preferring to take life easy and enjoy what may come. Sometimes he arrives bearings gifts in the form of leaves or twigs. Other times he wants to take home our astro turf as a memento… If his favorite girl Leia G. is around, all of his attention is diverted to her and his pursuit of her love and adoration. We are always pleased to see our favorite big, chill guy and see in what new way he will make us smile. That is why we have named Howl the Dog of the Week!

Every morning at Just Pet Me, we await the arrival of our favorite petite husky royalty, Leia G. As we greet and shower her with adoration, she’ll acknowledge us with a simple glance and continue on her way to the playroom. Once there, all of her charm school lessons go to waste as she barrels down the room towards the apple of her eye, Howl N. Leia G. spends most of her day swooning and doting over the laidback, too-cool-for-school Labrador/German Shepherd/Timberwolf mix. If on any day she sees herself without her beau, she’ll settle for playing tag with Finn V. or romping around with Ghost G. We’re always happy to be humbled by the presence of canine nobility and that is why we have named her Dog of the Week!

Lucky H. is one chill little dude with a relaxed demeanor who is always ready to take on whatever the day brings. Whether he chooses to spend the day roaming the room greeting all the dogs or going one-on-one with the tennis ball, Lucky loves having a day well spent here at Just Pet Me. When he does choose to take it easy, he’s fond of heading out to the yard for a sunbathing session or nuzzling up to Beaux D. We love watching Lucky H. live his life one day at a time and that is why we have named him Dog of the Week!

Every social group has that one nosey character. At Just Pet Me, our favorite little eavesdropping canine is Bentley L. Each morning he comes in, he puts on his sweetest face as he happily trots to the playgroup to meet the handlers. He’s delighted enough to just interact with our humans, but as soon as the playgroups start to form, he can’t help but go about his inquisitive ways with the doggies. No matter the size or the breed, Bentley is always ready to play with just about anyone that will take him. If he’s denied access to their club, he never leaves broken-hearted as he knows there are plenty more opportunities for him roaming around the room. We always look forward to what Bentley will get up to each day and that is why we named him Dog of the Week!

She’s the quirky little mixed-breed with the trademark skittishness. She’s the one that hesitates for a brief second before realizing that today, like every day, she is exactly where she wants to be! After greeting all of her favorite pals and dashing back and forth from the yard (for no real reason…), Friday is always quick to get a full day of fun started. We are always happy to see one of our shy guys show their true, high-spirited colors in our playgroup. For that, we are more than thrilled to name our girl Friday the Dog of the Week!

Booster S. is one goofy little bundle of fluff that just loves to be noticed. Every day when he comes in, he announces his entrance with an adorable little whimper (of joy of course!) Once in the group, he’ll trot around to check and see if there’s anyone cool enough to hang with that day. His go-to buddy of choice is his cousin Rocky L., the puppy pug mix. If he’s not around, he’ll cuddle up next to Mochi B. or Samus J. Booster S. is a sweet and adorable addition to our playgroup and that is why we have named him Dog of the Week!

In this corner, is our reigning female wrestling champ, Kiddo! This little-big girl has yet to realize the varying weight classes, as she takes on anyone from a yorkie to a mastiff (pretty much anyone that will give her the time of day). After she’s worn herself a good deal, she’ll wander out to the yard, get a good sniff of whoever is just coming in, or head on over for some attention from the handlers. Any rest time for Kiddo is particularly short-lived once anyone else shows interest in a match. We’re big fans of our high-energy jocks here at Just Pet Me, and that is why we have named her Dog of the Week!

There have been many famous duos in history: Antony and Cleopatra, Simon and Garfunkel, Batman and Robin… At Just Pet Me, one of our favorite pairs is made up the goofball Alpine and the more serious Bobby. These two dudes are attached at the hip for most of the day. Even when one decides to take a break from playtime, he’ll rest up right by where the other is wrestling, as if to cheer him on. Every once in a while we’ll catch them teaming up with our other favorite pair, Plato and Mozart for tag or some midday slumbering. Alpine and Bobby have proven that great things really do come in twos and that is why we have named them Dogs of the Week!

Every day that Tucker D. (or better known by his nickname “Crazy Pants”) comes to Just Pet Me, we know just what to expect out of him: non-stop playing. In the morning, this fuzzball comes in revving his engine, trying to make his way to the play group as fast as he can. Once he’s in, he’ll immediately join in on any wrestling or game of tag that is already taking place. If his BFF Khaleesi is around, he’ll hype her up enough to get several rounds of wrestling going. Once we think he’s had enough, he continues to surprise us with a second wind that comes around several times a day. We enjoy having his infectious energy around us and the play group and that is why we have named him Dog of the Week!

If there is one girl that we can always trust to get the fun started, it would be Khaleesi T. Every morning she comes in, she politely waits for leash/harness removal before jetting off into the playgroup to greet all her buddies and dote after her favorite big guy, Kevin B. If she manages to get his attention, the big man on campus will treat her to a round of wrestling or tag until she gets bored of him. She will then trot off for some quick cuddles with the handlers or some time with her BFF Lexi R. We love having this El Salvador-born, quirky-looking hound as part of our everyday playgroup and that is why we have named her Dog of the Week!

Dill also enjoys playing baby with the handlers, wagging his tail every time he’s being cradled. Kona S. is one of our newest puppies at Just Pet Me and he has quickly become Mr. Popular! Fear is a foreign concept for Kona S., as he never backs down from a wrestling session with Bear H., the 12 week-old Belgian Sheepdog. Most of Kona’s friends easily dwarf him, but only size. Charlotte is one little girl that quickly went from timid and skittish when starting at Just Pet Me, to friendly and full of pluck. When making friends, Charlotte will not discriminate between age, size or breed. On any given day she can be seen hard at play with Griz the German Shepherd, Charlie the Cattle/Hound Mix, or Whiskey the Frenchie/Boston Terrier mix. We love being able to rely on our regulars to make friends with every new dog that comes in and Charlotte has taken charge of that role. For that, we have named her Dog of the Week!

A day that Griz comes in is a day bound to be quite eventful! This German Shepherd always starts his day here with a look out the back of the car that says “Let me in…I’m ready to play!” As soon as he’s in the group, he’ll run up to one of his buddies (be it George M., Hobi C., or Khaleesi T.) and start off with a round of tag. Once in a while when everyone else is pooped from playing, our “big chinchilla” (his nickname because of his rounded ears) will treat us to a bout of rolling: he’ll just plop himself on the floor and roll on his back until someone taps for more play. Griz is always a guaranteed good time and that is why we have named him Dog of the Week!

Kilo and Kya are a duo that makes you do a double-take. Two white german shepherds back-to-back, but each one as different as can be. Kilo is the social butterfly, wandering from clique to clique in search of anyone that’s up for a round of tag. Kya is the more laid back of the two, choosing to view the play group from a distance. Every once in a while when she’s bored of her routine and with enough tugging from Kilo, she will follow her brother around. Samus J. is one goofy little bundle of contrasting fluff that just loves to be the center of attention. Once he’s had enough, he will either look for a nice spot in the backyard to sunbathe or (if he’s in the mood) he will continue to trot after dogs in search of affection. Here at Just Pet Me, we love it when a dog takes on a helpful role. One of our regulars, Beanie S. has been quick to take the reigns as hall monitor in our play group. When he sees some roughhousing going on, he’s on the culprit’s case in the blink of an eye. When a dog butts in and tries to be a third wheel, Beanie is there ready to put them in check. But it’s not all work and no play for Beanie. One of his favorite activities is to run up to Howl N. and…howl in his face! Luckily, Howl thinks its hilarious and he can’t get enough of Beanie’s antics. When he’s up for some cardio, he’ll play tag with his best buddy, Walter K. When she wants to hang around the boys she’ll rub up against her crush Kevin B. or her favorite of the puppies, Brady N. Gracie S. is the just-as-adorable biological sister to our precious little Bailey S. And just like her sister, Gracie S. has amassed a fan club all her own. When she’s not being pampered on a handler’s lap, she’s dropping in on her little social circle of pooches that include Honey Child M., Jessie Y., Bella J., and Charlotte L. Whereas Bailey S. is a little more outgoing, Gracie S. is more mild-mannered and slower to come-along. After a few timid sniffs of her friends, she sets off into the yard where she spends most of the day floating between the cliques and the loners. When she’s not wrestling with her favorite guy Buster R., she’s out sunbathing with her BFF Susie W. Whenever Susie pulls up to Just Pet Me (head sticking out the window, tail at attention), we know it’s going to be an extra special day. Most days she brushes off whatever warm greeting we give her. She doesn’t mean to offend, she’s just unable to shake her perpetually cool demeanor that we all appreciate and get a kick out of. The only time she doesn’t cast any shade our way is at meal time: her giddy stomping and her wide-eyed exuberance can’t hide her true colors. He’s the quirky mixed-breed with the funky little gait. He’s the cool observer type who watches the action from a distance at first and only then may trot on over to investigate further.
